Did Max Schmeling help Jewish people during the infamous Nazi sweep in Germany?

Thumbs up to Jose! Yes. I have read the story in many different boxing books/magazines of Schmeling helping save the lives of two Jewish boys, hiding them in his house from the gestapo, an action which could have cost him his life had he been found out. He also refused to fire his Jewish manager, he was hyped up an an Aryn superman but really he abhorred the Nazi beliefs.
