Politically speaking, what do you think of a company would a 40 page dress code?

Private company, they can do what they want. Every company has a employee handbook and dress code is defined. While 40 pages to describe it may be excessive, it is their right to publish and enforce it. If you don't like it, don't let the door hit you in the crack where God split your back!
